This is my 2009 photo journal gallery. I would like to commit to a new photo everyday, but with my schedule I know I could never maintain it. I will add new photo's as often as I can and it can be anything that catches my eye. So, this is 2009 THROUGH MY EYES!

Thank to all you great folks on the Dailies. Your consistant work and comments are an ispiration to me.

K DUNLAP > 09.09.09 = Early morning, before traffic, phone calls and email. Quite time.

“Think in the morning. Act in the noon. Eat in the evening. Sleep at night.” William Blake
K DUNLAP > 09.08.09 = When I look at this image, I think of a time gone by. A time when the motto was “Service with a Smile”. When it was called a “service station” and not just a “gas station”. What happened to “service”? It’s not just at the pump but everywhere these days; from the gas station to the dry cleaners to most retail stores, where did the friendly service go?

“There are no traffic jams along the extra mile.” Roger Staubach
K DUNLAP > 09.07.09 = Well, after Labor Day, I feel that summer is officially over and it’s time to buckle down and get back in to a normal routine. Summer is fickle in that it reminds me of childhood; carefree and running barefoot in the grass; popsicles melting down your hand and the coolness you feel on your warm, tan skin after your evening bath. With Autumn approaching and the changing of the air, I find myself excited for what is on the horizon; sweatshirts and football games, sleeping with windows open, buried under blankets, pumpkin fields and the turning of leaves. So long summer, see you next year.

“By all these lovely tokens
  September days are here,
  With Summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer.” Helen Hunt Jackson
K DUNLAP > 09.05.09 = Welcome to the world, Ian Mitchell Straub! A very good friend of mine just had a baby and I was able to do the first photo shoot for the announcements! This was my favorite from the shoot. Too cute the little smirk on his face. Looks like he is already up to something.

Sorry for my sporadic posting and commenting. I have been very busy with mulitpal projects at home, work and of course, photography.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy Holiday weekend! Kris :D
K DUNLAP > 09.04.09 = The other day on our road trip, my sister was kind enough to drive, so I could scout out for a photo op. When we drove by this place, I nearly had a heart attack! She did the big turn-around and we went back to check it out. Beers Auto Sales in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. This place should be a museum! Old cars, old signs, old gas pumps. What a fantastic place. I asked if it was okay for me to a take a few pictures and they were fine with it and joking around with us. Some classic characters to go with the classic décor!

"Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are." John Wooden

K DUNLAP > 09.03.09 = Green corn and blue skies!
I’m sorry I have been MIA for a few weeks, I was so busy last week with work that I had to step away from my daily. I am also headed into my busy part of the year, so my posts will be sporadic. This week, however, I am on vacation. A full whole week. I haven’t taken a full week since 2005. Yesterday, my sister Kim and I took a road trip to Nashville, Indiana. Two goofy girls laughing and enjoying the drive. We took back roads, driveways and twisty roads to get there. We saw a few eagles, (not really) deer and lot of corn; all under the cover of stunning blue skies

"In the end, it's not the years in you life that count. It's the life in your years." Abraham Lincoln
K DUNLAP > 08.19.09 = IT'S IRRESISTIBLE!!! It says so right on the carton; Graeter's Ice Cream! This is a local, family operated ice cream company that has been around since 1870. It's a 4th generation run business! The Black Raspberry Chocolate Chunk is a famous favorite. Oprah put it on her "Favorite Things" list a few years ago, and there was a 4 month waiting list to get it. Sarah Jessica Parker, is from Cincinnati, and when ever she finishes with a movie shoot, she has Graeter's brought in for the entire crew. You can order it online at http://www.graeters.com/

"Life is like an ice-cream cone. You have to lick it one day at a time." Charles Schultz

K DUNLAP > 08.18.09 = Following my theme this week of favorite local foods; THE HOT FUDGE CAKE from Frisch's Big Boy! Two pieces of chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream in between; thick hot fudge rolling down the sides; topped with whipped cream and cherry.....good heavens! JenniferD was wondering if they still had the hot fudge cake the other day with my shot of the Big Boy, now you have your answer, Ohhhhh yeeeaaahhhhhhhh!
This was fun to photograph, however, it did start to melt after a several minutes...see more of my shots here; .http://kdunlap.smugmug.com/gallery/7050292_Qb6m7/1/624242734_wZNw3

K DUNLAP > 08.17.09 = SKYLINE CHILI!!! To follow yesterdays post, my topic this week is local food. Even if you have never been to Cincinnati, you may have heard of "Cincinnati Style Chili". We like our chili a little bit different here; over speghetti. A 3-way is spaghetti topped with chili and cheese; 4-ways, the same with your choice of beans or onions added and a 5-way, both beans and onions added. The chili is not a tomato base or a Texas style chili it has a touch of cinnamon and some say, chocolate in it. The secret family recipe is kept in a safe! My favorite are the cheese coneys; little hot dogs with chili, mustard, onions topped with a mountain of cheese. Oh, and dont forget the oyster crackers on the side! Skyline chili, a hometown favorite!

"My mother's menu consisted of two choices: Take it or Leave it!" Buddy Hackett
